Genetic quirk that has become much more common. often an entire community will have carried the gene for generations but the rise in radiation and genetic triggers since the flare has sparked it into life. Mostly found in less diverse gene pools so common in out of the way rural areas. Heavy populations in Cumbria, wales and scotland, thought to be due to viking forefathers.

Unfortunately the same gene can twist the mind and thier mad and dangerous brothers, the Trolls, are becoming a blight.
